Minutes

 

The meeting was called to order by Vonna Johnson. Those attending were: Vonna Johnson, Debby Cowden and Thea Gallion and Kay Smith.

 

A motion was made by  Thea Gallion and Seconded by Kay Smith to approve the minutes as read for the October meeting. Motion carried.

 

Vonna Johnson presented the financial statement, indicating that the checking account balance was $976.69 and the CD balance was approximately $11, 587.76. Vonna indicated that she had not checked with the bank as the interest earned since October. In keeping with previous association guidelines, a motion was made by Thea Gallion and seconded by Debby Cowden to transfer all monies from the certificate of deposit to the checking account, leaving $10,000 in the certificate of deposit account. The association had previously voted to always maintain a $1,000 balance in the checking account.

 

Heather Basurto was not present to report on the status of securing a caterer for the BBQ due to another meeting, but sent word that we had secured written confirmation from Johnny's BBQ to cater at the price agreed upon.

 

Jill and Kenny were not present to report on the progress of the dance, but sent word through Thea that they had some more feelers out and were waiting on demo CD's from them.

 

Thea reported that she had checked with The Crane News concerning the price of their ads in order for us to know how much to charge for the advertising in our Registration Booklet. Thea reported the ad pricing to be as follows: 1/8 pg = $35; 1/4 pg = $50; 1/2 pg = $80; Full Pg = $125.

 

Thea is going to check with the Crane News and Kinko's in Midland to see about pricing for copying the pages for the registration book. We will do the collating. She is also working with Carrie McNeese to see if some of the CHS students in web design/computers would be interested in designing the pages for us.

 

DeeDee Wallace is going to see that a monthly news article is in the Crane News talking about the reunion, progress and needs.

 

Laura Stark Richards is working on the Luau.

 

Thea is working on the Saturday Registration tables, books, etc.

 

Don Woodward has tentatively accepted the responsibility of organizing the General Assembly program with the help of DeeDee Wallace.

 

The next meeting will be December  6, 2004, 7:00 pm, Crane Chamber of Commerce.

 

Thea Gallion made a motion to adjourn, Debby Cowden, seconded. Meeting adjourned.
