She also informed the group that in the past, Security State had allowed the Association to pull from the CD, money as needed, and have not required us to cash in the CD.
Vonna also informed the group present that the practice for distributing money was upon receipt of goods purchased or that a check would be made out to the vendor. No blank checks would be made out. If an amount was uncertain, then a check for cash could be made out the individual and receipts would be expected for the amount spent and the balance to be returned. Every penny must be accounted for and receipted.
There was a brief discussion concerning some details of choosing bands, caterers, etc. It was also mentioned that Paul Patterson, Elmer Kelton and Winnie Browning and Ann Mayes should be recognized at the General Assembly. Jill Gallion informed the group that the Country Club would want to host a golf tournament on Friday morning, August 5th. It was mentioned that the golf tournament was an added attraction to the weekend, but it should not interfere with any activities specifically planned for the reunion.
A discussion was entered into concerning the election of officers. Mr. Mathes asked about the President and Vice President. Vonna explained that the current President and Vice President no longer lived in Crane and that an election to fill those positions was never had mainly due to lack of interest of taking over the positions. Vonna Johnson is the only remaining officer and agreed to continue taking care of the finances.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting is Monday, October 4, 2005, 7:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce.
